Terms of settlement 

• Down payment: after receipt of the hire agreement you have to settle the first part of the hire within a fortnight. 

Payment: 

• the remainder has to be paid before sailing, possibiy in cash. Should you wish to pay the remainder by bank, please pay by giro at least a fortnight in advance, as the amount will have to have been credited to our account before sailing.

Deposit 

• Before sailing you will have to pay a deposit (own risk as well). The amount varies per ship and is stated in the price-list. 

Period of hire Three terms, namely:

• 1.From Saturday between 10.00-13.00 hrs until Friday between 12.00 - 14.00 hrs;
  2.From Friday between 16.00 - 18.00 hrs until Friday between 08.00 - 10.00 hrs;
  3.Monday between 16.00-18.00 hrs till monday between 08.00-10.00 hrs.
  4.Wednesday 16.00 - 18.00 hrs till Wednesday 8.00 - 10.00 hrs.

in the early and late season weekend and midweek hire is possible as well. 

Insurance

• Our ships and inventory are comprehensively insured. Your own risk is stated in the price-list. You will have to see to a cancellation and travei insurance yourself. If so desired, we offer to mediate.

Sailing area 

• Dutch canals and inland lakes. lt is not allowed to sail the Waddenzee. You need our written permission to sail the Ysselmeer and only under the following 

• - with good visibility only; 
  - if there is no gale force warning higher than 4 Beaufort, or if that is not expected; 
  - sufficient  knowledge od some navigating techniques;
  - hiring life jackets is obligatory; own risk of € 320,00

Refuelling

• We have our own gas oil station. Hose pipes on the quay. Before sailing both water tank and fuel tank will be full. On return we shall refuel. 

Cleaning 

• You will receive the ship in a clean and tidy condition. We would like to get the ship back that way as well. Cleaning the inside and outside of the ship can be taken care of by us for a small fee. Please book in advance.

Pets

• You can take your cat or dog for a small fee (see price list) Except the boats :Lars, Olympus, Hercules, Antares, Pegasus 3. We shall be extra careful when collecting the ship and shall check for hair and damage, etc. Cleaning expenses obligatory (see price list)

Hiring of extras

• If available, you can hire for a fee e.g. bycycles, rowing boats, dinghy with outboard motor, jackete and pillow-cases. 

• Towels and quilts: As extra service we can offer you towelsets and/or quiltsets. A towelset consists of: 1 towel, 1 bath sheet and 1 face flannel. Extra towels and/or face flannels can, ofcourse, also be reserved!. The quiltsets are divided into a single or a double set and consist of: 1 quilt, 1 quitcover, 1 bottom sheet and 1 or 2 pillow-cases. The above is to reserve for a small  consideration (see pricelist).

Video hire 

• On board of almost all ships there is a colour TV with video player. As extra service we have purchased a collection of video films which are, for the greater part, of a recent date. The set varies from cartoons to action films, drama, etc. You can hire these videosets from us for a small fee.

Garage/parking 

• We have plenty of parking facilities at the back of our shipyard, where you can leave your car free of charge. For a small fee you can also park your car indoors in one of our halls.

Standard equipment 

• All our ships have been equipped with: 
  - complete kitchen inventory - refrigerator - heating - gas ring - toilet - matrasses - pillowes - 2 gas cylinders - batteries - fire extinguishers - cupboard and storage space 
  - 12 Volt electricity and lighting  - carhoover - gangplank or steps - hook - bucket
  - scrubbingbrush - buffers - anchor - lines (mooring-ropes) - mooring pins - lifebuoy 
  - 2 maps (Friesland and N.W.Overijssel) - Almanak part 1 and 2 - some tools - extra oil 
  - radio + cassette recorder - echosounder - swimming ladder - 2, 4 or 6 deck chairs.

Inventory

• The kitchen has been fully equipped with cutlery, plates, glasses, cups, dishes, pans and many accessories. Consult the list which will be given with the contract of hire. Pillows are available; you have to bring your own pillow-cases, blankets and /or sleeping bags. Quiltsets and towelsets can be hired if necessary; you have te reserve them in time.

Extra costs not included in costs if hire

• - use of dieseloil (refuelling on return); 
  - cancellation insurance: 5,00% of the cost of hire + €5,- expences. 
  (Not obligatory but recommended).; 
  - bridge, lock and harbour dues; charges and other sailing costs and risks.

Service department

• Yachtcharter "Turfskip" has its own workshop and service van. With possible breakdowns, when in the North of the Netherlands, we can usually be on board within an hour

Last Minute booking

Booking up to the maximum of fourteen days in advance! Although our ships are generally fully booked, it can that a ship has not been hired. In that case we can offer offer you last-minute booking at a reduced price.

Weekend or midweek hire

• In the early and late season it is also possible to hire ships, selected by us, for a shorter period than a week:
  a) weekend: from Friday 16.00 - 18.00 hrs till Sunday 16.00 hrs.
  b) midweek: from Monday 13.00 - to Friday 12.00 hrs.
